Thank you for visiting!
Professionally I go by the name William, but among friends, I am called Bill, hence the “B” in BLT. William is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and finishing a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies through Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. After completing, I will be attending seminary in pursuit of a calling into ministry. Bill is a father and husband, who enjoys apologetics, bad jokes, and playing board and card games.
BLT is a play on the abbreviations of Bible translations and my name, and the sandwich of course. I do not intend to translate the Greek text of the New Testament and create a new translation. The purpose of this blog is to address issues and struggles myself and others face as we try to translate our lives to the living Word of God.
I try to consider all sides of an issue before jumping to a conclusion, and I attempt to be intellectually and emotionally honest in all deliberations. Unlike Jesus, I am 100% human and 0% divine, I make mistakes and am frequently wrong. I hope not to sound condescending or arrogant, but I do have strong convictions on some issues. These convictions were not arrived at arbitrarily but involved long and careful consideration.
I am theologically, socially, and politically conservative. I believe Jesus is God and the only way to eternal life. I believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God and agree with the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy. I am pro-life and believe that abortion, while in very few situations may be justifiable, is always the wrong choice. However, while I have strong convictions over these and many other issues, I will attempt to approach this blog without the judgmental, holier-than-thou attitude of which so many of us Christians are guilty. On my BLT I will hold the supercilious mayo.
