Thank you for visiting!
Professionally I go by the name William, but among friends, I am called Bill, hence the “B” in BLT. William is a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and finishing a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies through Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. After completing, I will be attending seminary in pursuit of a calling into ministry. Bill is a father and husband, who enjoys apologetics, bad jokes, and playing board and card games.
BLT is a play on the abbreviations of Bible translations and my name, and the sandwich of course. I do not intend to translate the Greek text of the New Testament and create a new translation. The purpose of this blog is to address issues and struggles myself and others face as we try to translate our lives to the living Word of God.
I try to consider all sides of an issue before jumping to a conclusion, and I attempt to be intellectually and emotionally honest in all deliberations. Unlike Jesus, I am 100% human and 0% divine, I make mistakes and am frequently wrong. I hope not to sound condescending or arrogant, but I do have strong convictions on some issues. These convictions were not arrived at arbitrarily but involved long and careful consideration.
I am generally theologically conservative, but on the political side I do not identify with a particular party. My political views derive from my worldview and my worldview is rooted in the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus, who is God and the only way to eternal life. I believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God and agree with the Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy. While I have strong convictions over these and many other issues, I will attempt to approach this blog without the judgmental, holier-than-thou attitude of which so many of us Christians are guilty. On my BLT I will hold the supercilious mayo.
